I purchased an XPS two bank charger last July and it went dead in December. I sent it back and they sent me a refurb unit to replace it under warranty with no hassle. I received it in January and it worked fine until today and the same thing happened. I checked the power source and the fuses and everything looks OK so I'm sure it's dead again. Does anyone have any experience with these and, if so, are they at all durable or am I just unlicky? Also, any suggestions for a unit that will last?
I will try to get the unit replaced under warranty again, but I'm not sure if they will send me another. They kept my receipt last time. I am looking for a two bank charger under $100. Call them up and send it back. I bet the fix it or replace it.

They are a good company and they care about their customers. I have 2 of them, 3 bank chargers 5/5/5 and they work great. Bought one about 5 years ago and the other 4 years ago.
One did break after about 3 years and the warranty is only for a year. Called promariner up ( since they make them) and they replaced the unit. They are good chargers and for they $$ you can't beat them. One question, are you still using the same batteries, both times the charger broke?

I know when my charger went. It was a bad battery that shorted out and fried the charger. I purchased an XPS two bank charger (5/5) about three years ago.
It failed just before the warranty was up. I E-mailed the warranty department at promariner and a service rep called and talked to me on the phone about the problem. He told me to ship it back for their evaluation. They had it for about a month so I emailed them to check on thier findings, they were very apologetic for the delay, it was mid-summer and they were busy. They sent me a brand new promariner model prosport 12, 6/6 (more expensive than the XPS). I have had the replacement for two years now with no problems.
I leave it hooked up all winter and check the water level in the batteries frequently. Hey guys, well for starters I had a Guest Onboard 10amp 2 bank charger.
This died quickly after I bought the boat as the previous owner had it in storage for 5yrs straight. Since I had upgraded the trolling motor to a 74lb Minn Kota. I figured I would go and get a Minn Kota battery charger.
This was probably 4-5 yrs ago. It also died within 3 months.
I then spent the extra money and got a Dual Pro Charger, 4yrs and counting. They are rugged and have not failed me yet. Looking at the how they are built its not a mystery why they are installed on Ranger boats. You can check out Dual Pro Chargers. I replaced my 2 bank dual pro charger with one of the XPS 5/5/5 triple banks last spring. I have not had the boat out since last October but, as far as I can tell it is still working fine, but, now that you bring it up, Once I had installed the new XPS charger, my batteries had failed. Warcraft 3 dragon ball z map ai for mac.
They were walmart specials about 3 years old so I just figured they were junk. I wondered at the time, if it didn't have something to do with the new charger. Time will tell. I put in some good AC Delco batteries. When I was looking for a new charger I was planning on getting one of the Minkota 330 triple banks off of ebay but, got tired of waiting for the right buy. Then I saw the XPS ones on sale at BPS for something like $80 and punched the ticket.
Now I am hoping it is not a ticket to some cheap Carnival ride.:-. The biggest reason i wont have an old board charger - they take alot of abuse being on the boat while your hitting waves. I have 2 portable smart chargers, a 100' extention cord, and a 2 way water proof splitter that I use exclusively. In 30 years of boat ownership I've owned about 3 old style chargers. They've never failed, ever. They've gotten run over, the charging gauge smashed in, cords cut.
One was left out a couple times charging batteries in the rain but it never failed. Rusted out yes. Reading about all the failures here (you'll read the same kind of failures at other boards too) I'm not really sure whether the convience of OB chargers is worth the price or the obvious potential to breakdown.
